Grants Program
The Grant Program was created by the Colorado legislature, and grant recipients are selected based on the recommendations of SENSE Colorado’s Grant Program Committee.
Priorities for grant funding include:
- Start-up programs that are currently lacking at the state level.
- Community-based planning to improve coordination and access to services.
- Support for existing services and programs.
- Communication or environmental access services (for exceptional cases, as this funding is not intended to replace organizations’ ADA obligations).
- Other projects that meet the overall purpose of the grant program, as determined by the grant selection subcommittee.
NEW! Starting in the state fiscal year 2025-2026 (July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026), the total amount of funding available to grant applicants is $50,000. Organizations are no longer limited to a single grant of $9,999 – instead, organizations may apply for funding in any amount up to $35,000.

Grant Recipient Report
Recipient Report details in PDF.
Recipient Reports are due July 15, 11:59 p.m. MST
Directions:
We are excited to hear about the success of your project! As a recipient of the 2025–2026 grant (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026), your final step is to show us how these funds made an impact. Because this grant is highly competitive, your detailed report helps our committee understand exactly what this money achieved for your organization and the people you serve.
Please be as specific as possible. Great reports often include timelines, participant success stories, feedback, summaries, and charts. To make this process easier, we have provided guiding questions for each section. We recommend reading through all the sections before you begin writing to avoid repeating yourself. Feel free to include any extra information that highlights why this grant was so important to your work!
I. Progress on the Project itself:
What were your project’s goals; how did your organization go about preparing for the actual event; and what details can you provide about the event itself?
II. Activities:
Tell about the activities that were planned to complete this project. How did each activity enhance your project? How did the participants react to the activities? Which ones were the best received? Do you have any stories or specific happenings that stand out in your mind that would help describe the event’s activities?
III. Participants:
What was the targeted audience? How did you identify the appropriate people for this event? Participant feedback? How many people (participants, staff, volunteers, vendors?) were involved in all aspects of this event?
IV. Justification of how this project addressed the needs of the targeted community:
For each goal please explain how each part of this project met the needs of your targeted community. Why was it a necessary service and how effective was it toward the participants?
V. Description of measurable outcomes:
Describe in detail how each measurable outcome was met?
VI. Detailed budget report:
Provide a completed budget detailing the proposed project’s expenses and the actual expenses for all aspects of this event.
